Ruby-red, with a spicy, vibrant bouquet of raspberry, kirsch, white pepper, truffle and mocha. Characteristic dark fruits comingle with the structured mid-palette yielding to multiple layers of fruit, floral notes, wild game all wrapped in expansive vanilla undertones. Nice balanced acidity. Finishes long with subtle nuances of earth blending nicely with the tight, fine tannins.

The 2008 ‘S’ was harvested roughly one week later than our 2008 Estate Pinot Noir through our various blocks. It offers enticing aromatics of sweet black cherries, sandalwood incense, clove, smoke and hints of black truffles.

Dark in color, the nose explodes with an opulent bouquet of wild blackberries, cola, truffle, and toasty oak which immediately fills the senses. Rich and concentrated, it is accentuated by layers of silky ripe cherries, pomegranate, cassis, crème brûlée and exotic spice notes – ultimately, opening up after 30-60 minutes of decanting to reveal additional notes of violets, smoked bacon and black cherries. The essence of the back palate and finish is a sweet, mouthcoating intensity that continues on and on with nicely integrated tannins. This is a wonderfully textured wine with great acid balance that should give this youthful Pinot Noir life for many years to come.
